Boehner backs out of Olson appearance

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will not attend a Saturday event with 22nd Congressional District candidate Pete Olson. Boehner was originally scheduled to appear with Olson at the grand opening of the Galveston County Republican headquarters' office in League City on Saturday morning.

According to the Olson campaign, Boehner will not attend the grand opening "due to the financial relief package" the House is now considering.

Olson, a Republican and former chief of staff to U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-San Antonio), is locked in a competitive contest against U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, a Stafford Democrat.
